Soft Landing Program and Vacancy Posting

Due to recent events in the virtual airline community vAAirlines would like to highlight a new program aimed at helping aviators who may be looking for a new community to continue their virtual careers with while continue to simulate the real world operations of American Airlines. It is never easy to lose the hard work and dedication that is put in to building a virtual logbook and we fully understand that we will not be able to replace that. Our hope is that by offering this program that you may be able to find a new home in us, and pick up close to where you left off of in your previous career. This is also an opportunity to provide a special offer to current pilots as a “Thank you” for being a part of our community with our first ever Vacancy Posting!

For those who have recently been affected by the sudden closing of AAVirtual.net, we would like to offer you an opportunity to continue your career with us by starting off in a “Direct Entry Captain” role if you meet certain requirements.

To participate in this program you will need to have flown flights for AAVirtual on the VATSIM network. We are currently offering pilots who have flown 10 flights on the VATSIM network with “AAVirtual.net” in the comments section of their flightplan a “Direct Entry Captain” position. This means that if you have flown 10 flights on the VATSIM network with the required remarks, you will be upgraded to Captain in the specific group that was assigned during registration instead of First Officer. This places you closer to the next higher rank and allows a faster path to the next fleet group offered. Qualifying flights must have been completed before September 21, 2023 and have the specific link in the comments section of the flightplan.

Vacancy Announcement

As stated above, we would love an opportunity to say “thank you” to our members who have been helping us build up over the years by offering up our first ever Vacancy Announcement! This program is aimed at helping to fast track you to the next rank by simply showing that you have completed 5 flights on the VATSIM network with “aalva.org” in the remarks section to gain one free promotion to the next higher rank (excluding Check Airman). These flights must have been completed in the last 90 days and can be flown after the announcement of this program until it’s posted closing date. This promotion can only be used once per vacancy cycle.

When you are ready and have completed the requirements simply fill out the form by clicking here and allow up to 48 hours for review of your submitted flights and updated rank. Please note that flights that do not have the specific “aalva.org” in the remarks section can not be counted.
