Spring Update and Pilot Survey
We are now just a few weeks past the official start of Spring and there are some exciting things beginning to happen here at vAAirlines that we wanted to share with you. The first update is that we are looking for your help in helping to shape the future developments of our airline! A pilot survey has just gone live and we are requesting your help by taking a few moments to complete. You can view the survey by clicking here or by copying and pasting this link (https://forms.gle/FBToeALaaiCGKCGh7) into your browser. There is also a link in the website on the sidebar of the Pilot Portal that is now live for your convenience! The survey will be open until Friday April 28, 2023 at 2359 Central and is completely anonymous. Your help is greatly appreciated and this is your chance to help improve the airline. If you have any troubles with the survey please do not hesitate to reach out to us via email or on Discord for help!
The next order of business is to inform you that SOPPHB v2.1 has been uploaded to the website and is able to be downloaded in the Pilot Portal > Downloads section. Please take a moment to review the change log and familiarize yourself with the new items! This will be the last version of the SOPPHB that will be distributed via pdf format as we prepare to transition to an updated format that is more easily accessible. This brings a few minor changes but also a few large ones that include the reorganization of the staff team structure with the addition of two new positions. The first is the role of Community Specialist which is a non-exclusive role that is appointed by the Executive Staff to help in moderating any official Discord, Forums, or other community spaces by assisting pilots with questions, helping troubleshoot issues as able, and referring items to the correct department if needed for further escalation. This is a Support Staff position that reports directly to the VP of Human Resources. It does not carry a reserved ID number but will appear on the community space as a special role and designation.
The second new position is an Executive Staff role which has been created to ensure the future of our airline remains bright through the creation and execution of growth strategies. This position, the Vice President of Strategic Growth, will identify areas of improvement through both community interactions and through collection of data in coordination with other departments. They will oversee the development and execution of marketing strategies in relation to the overall growth strategy and ensure that they remain aligned with the company’s overall goals. We are very fortunate to have an expert in this field already on the team who will guide us to new heights and achievements! This brings us to the final update.
Our current VP of Training, Ej Davis, will be changing roles within the airline and take over as the VP of Strategic Growth for vAAirlines effective immediately. Ej will continue to oversee the duties of VP of Training until we are able to hire a replacement and can be reached at either the training[at]aalva.org email or the new growth[at]aalva.org. Take a moment to stop by the Discord and congratulate Ej on the new job!
